Wreck totals Crawford County Sheriff vehicle, sends deputy to hospital
PITTSBURG, Kan. – An overnight wreck in Pittsburg sends two to the hospital, including a Crawford County Sheriff’s deputy.
According to the Pittsburg Police Department, the accident happened a little after 10 p.m., on Friday, July 17, at the intersection of 27th and Broadway Streets.
Police say Deputy Jessica Franklin was driving through a green light and crossing the intersection when her vehicle was hit by a minivan running a red light, traveling westbound.
Both drivers were taken to Ascension Via Christi for evaluation and treatment.
Crawford County Sheriff Danny Smith says Deputy Franklin was released from the hospital last night.
