The ramp from Main Street (Missouri Route 43) to westbound I-44 in Joplin will be closed from March 25th through August 1st, 2019 for bridge work.

MoDOT says the on ramp (Exit 6) will be closed during that time for safety concerns.

“Drivers using I-44 in Joplin can expect delays and lane closings when a project to rehabilitate both bridges over Shoal Creek near Mile Marker 6 begins..” says MoDOT.

Traffic Impacts:

One westbound lane is closed at Mile Marker 6 while contractor crews rehabilitate bridge over Shoal Creek
Drivers are urged to seek alternate routes to avoid the construction and possible traffic delays
Once the both lanes of the westbound bridge are completed, contractor crews will move to the eastbound bridge, August 1
Motorists can expect significant traffic delays and a reduced speed limit of 60 mph through the work zone

Weather and/or scheduling conflicts could alter the work schedule.
