Wednesday Evening Blog: More light snow and much colder temperatures

More light snow and much colder temperatures

Good Wednesday evening!  I hope the week is going great for you.  Mine has been pretty good.  I am finally feeling pretty good after a week with the flu.  I was glad to see some rain and snow for us today.  Most areas picked up over and inch of rain, that is pretty crazy.  Plus, we have had the snow.  Here is what has fallen up to this point.  Remember, a lot of this has melted on contact.

We have another light band working through which will give most of us a dusting to 1/2″ over the next few hours.

We also have an arctic blast about to move in.  This is our first arctic blast that we have had in two months.  It was this system that rolled through in mid December that gave us about an inch of snow and an arctic blast.  So this system is doing exactly what it is suppose to do.  Temperatures will really struggle to warm up on Thursday.  Check out the wind chill by morning.

Even with the sun, we will struggle to get into the upper 20s on Thursday.

Plus with the NW winds at 10-20 mph through the day, we will have wind chills staying into the 10s through the day.

We will start to warm back up for the weekend.  Our next storm system (or bigger system) works in early next week.  However, like we will see so many times through the spring, the systems really don’t get their act together until they pass by.

So these usually give us a few showers and a cold front.  Different story for the spring months.  They will still get going mainly east of us, but we will be in the firing zone for severe weather.  More to come on that down the road.

Make sure you check out my long range forecast below.
