Webb City wins opener in Little League Midwest Regional

Webb City erases a 4-1 deficit to win 5-4 Friday in Indianapolis.

WEBB CITY, Mo. – The Webb City Little League baseball team won their opener at the Midwest Regional Tournament in Indianapolis on Friday afternoon.

Webb City rallied from a 4-1 deficit to beat Sioux Falls, South Dakota 5-4, scoring four runs in the 6th.

Bratie Holland delivered an RBI single in the 5th to tie the game up at 1.

Sioux Falls responded with three runs in the bottom of 5th inning to go up 4-1. After getting a couple runs back to pull within one, Brayton Robinson hit an RBI single in the top of the 6th to score Andrew Baird and tie the game up 4-4.

Webb City would go back in front when Holland drove a fly ball to center field, which was dropped and allowed Robinson to score the go-ahead run. Jaxon Kent finished the game in the bottom of the 6th with a strikeout to secure the 5-4 victory.

Webb City will be back in action on Sunday, facing Fargo, North Dakota.
