Webb City sub shop offering free bread to the public
The Sub Shop Deli in Webb City is doing its part to help out others in this time of need.
As bread on store shelves becomes limited, the owner of the sub shop decided to step up by offering free freshly baked loaves of bread to anyone who needs it.
Dozens of loaves are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The deli’s owner Donna Brown says they’ve been planning on doing this for a few days and with the thought to give back to their community that’s been so good to their shop the last 38 years.
“It’s our responsibility, every community member, you know, needs to check on their neighbor.” Brown says, “Especially, at this point, you know. We need to check on our neighbors and it fills my heart.”
The Sub Shop Deli is closed on Sundays. Brown says they will continue to bake bread as long as the community needs it.
