Webb City police asking for public’s help in attempted burglary

WEBB CITY, Mo. – Officials with the Webb City Police Department say around 2:40am on Friday, January 10th, officers were called to the 1000 block of Joanne Drive in Webb City in reference to a burglary in progress.

According to the department, 25 year old Tre Ackerson attempted to break into the victim’s home when the person who lived in the home fired several rounds at Ackerson during the attempted burglary. The resident has a home surveillance camera and Ackerson can be seen on the camera just prior to the burglary.

Police say this wasn’t a random burglary, but that the resident was targeted by Ackerson.

Ackerson is described as a 25-year old white male from Webb City.  Police say Ackerson should be considered armed and dangerous.
