Webb City opens fall practice, aims to repeat as state champion

The Cardinals begin fall practice Monday morning.

WEBB CITY, Mo. – The Webb City Cardinals open fall practice Monday morning.

The Cardinals are coming off a Missouri Class 5 state championship – and a good summer in the weight room.

“We really focused a lot on strength and conditioning in June and a little bit of football. Then we would crank it up a little more in July, as far as the football part of it. We had more guys back this year that had a lot of experience from last year, so that always lends itself to a little bit more intense practices.”

“I think we definitely have good team chemistry,” says senior DL/LB Lucas Ott, “We work together pretty well. I think we all love to be out here and we love the game of football. I think we’re all ready to go try to win a state championship.”
