Web Extra: After pandemic alters plans, MSSU graduate proposes at rec center, where he first met his fiance
Trey Vaughan proposed to Laney Parrigon Monday, more than three years after they met at the MSSU rec center.
Story and video from Mike Olmstead, Missouri Southern Director of News Services and Messaging.
Missouri Southern graduate Trey Vaughan proposed to his girlfriend Laney Parrigon on Monday, in the same place they met more than three years ago.
With the help of one of Parrigon’s friends, Vaughan got permission to use the rec center for the proposal. The two met at the rec center, and used to play volleyball together there.
Using purple Solo cups, Laney’s favorite color, they spelled out “Marry me?” in the volleyball net, before Trey walked in with Laney, got down on one knee and proposed on the 3 year and 5 month anniversary of when they first started dating.
Trey had originally planned to propose on the final day of a camping trip at Whitaker Point in Arkansas, but because of COVID-19, the park is closed and the trip had to be moved.
