Watching rain chances return Friday
While severe threat stays southwest
Our active stretch of weather will continue as we get into the weekend. While we start Friday off on a quiet but mostly cloudy note, we’ll see rain chances pick back up as we head into late Friday afternoon and into Friday evening. Fortunately, we’ll deal with just rain chances as any t-storms chances stay to our southwest.
In fact, the Storm Prediction Center has a marginal risk of severe weather outlined for southeastern New Mexico and parts of central and western Texas. The better combination of upper level energy and warmth, instability and moisture along the surface front will lead to t-storms in this region with the chance for some small hail and some wind gusts. The timing of that looks to be from Friday afternoon and into Friday night.
