JOPLIN, Mo. – Sam’s Club and Walmart celebrate a 35-year partnership with Children’s Miracle Network Hospital at Freeman and kick off the 2022 fundraiser.

Customers at Sam’s Club or Walmart in Joplin or Pittsburg have the opportunity to donate any amount at the register or round up purchases to the nearest dollar to benefit children with medical needs.

“We’re grateful to Sam’s Club and Walmart for making the world a better place to live,” said Paula F. Baker, Freeman President and Chief Executive Officer. “Generous business partners and donors alike make it possible for children with medical needs to receive the care they need. That can include help with medical equipment and prescriptions not covered by insurance, out-of-town travel to see specialists, and service dogs for children with a wide variety of conditions.”

Officials say Sam’s Club in Joplin raised over $61,000 last year, making it the top Sam’s in the nation.

Freeman officials believe the Joplin location is likely to maintain the number one position for the second year in a row.

“A 35-year partnership is quite rare and special,” said Teri Nestel, President and CEO of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. “We’re thrilled to be celebrating this significant milestone with Walmart and Sam’s Club, and even more importantly the shared values that bring us together – engaging communities to transform children’s healthcare and ensure healthy tomorrows.”

Associates in stores and clubs across the country raised more than $1 billion over the lifetime of the partnership for children’s hospitals across North America.
