Voters to decide on school district rezoning in Barton Co., MO
BARTON COUNTY, Mo. — There is a push in Barton County, Missouri to redistrict a few hundred acres of land from the Golden City R-III School District to the Lamar R-I School District. In order for the rezoning to happen both districts would have to agree, by passing the measure on a ballot. To get it on the ballot, at least ten percent of the voters who voted in the last school board elections in each district had to approve it. The area in question is roughly 320 acres and is home to only one current student. That election will be held on Tuesday, April 6.
