Video catches suspect driving on Carthage square sidewalk during chase

CARTHAGE, Mo. –  A 27-year-old woman is caught on video trying to escape police – driving on the Carthage square sidewalk at one point – before being arrested.

Police began pursuing Breshia Grosso in Joplin.

According to Joplin Police Captain Nick Jiminez, a hit-and-run happened early this morning, Jan. 22. Officers identified the suspect vehicle and later tried to stop it. The black SUV, driven by Grosso, didn’t stop. Police pursued the vehicle into Carthage.

Grosso drove around the Carthage square, driving the wrong way. She then mounted the sidewalk, which is seen in the video. Police say she blew out the tires, drove away from the courthouse, came back around and was eventually arrested.

Authorities say Grosso has several felony warrants. Joplin Police may request charges in the incident.

Police booked her into the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office.
