Victim’s name released in Newton County death investigation
NEWTON COUNTY, Mo. – Authorities identify the victim of a possible homicide in Newton County, Missouri.
On Saturday, May 30, 21020, the Newton County Sheriff’s Office responded to 15726 Finch Drive, between Neosho and Seneca. Authorities say a neighbor had found a body partially hidden under a pile of debris on the property.
The Sheriff’s Office identified the victim as 55-year-old Robert L. Bryant, who lived at that home. Family members said he had not been seen since the previous Sunday, but that he had not been reported missing yet.
Authorities are investigating Bryant’s death as a homicide. Newton County Detectives got a search warrant for his property and processed the scene. They collected evidence and are now conducting interviews, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
An autopsy is scheduled for later this week.
