Vernon County man charged with stabbing family member multiple times
VERNON COUNTY, Mo. – A Sheldon, Missouri man faces charges after allegedly stabbing a family member several times. The victim is expected to recover, according to authorities.
Monday night, May 11, Vernon County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to call about a stabbing on W. Commercial Street in Sheldon. Authorities say it was reported that the victim was stabbed multiple times by a family member after a verbal disagreement.
Vernon County Sheriff Jason Mosher says deputies were told that the suspect had left the scene on foot. He says deputies were “quickly able to get to the area and locate the suspect, who was taken into custody without incident.” The suspect, Wesley Campbell, 20, is in jail on a $50,000 cash only bond.
Mosher said the victim was treated at the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.
The Court filed charges of second degree domestic assault and armed criminal action against Campbell.
