SHAWNEE, Okla. — The Pittsburg State University volleyball team closed out day two of action at the MIAA/GAC Crossover Tournament with a pair of victories Saturday (Sept. 8).

The Gorillas captured a 3-1 decision over Oklahoma Baptist University, winning 25-22, 20-25, 25-16, 25-23 Saturday morning before recording a 3-1 victory against East Central University – 25-11, 25-14, 23-25, 25-13 – Saturday evening.

Lauren Regier led the Gorillas offense in the match against SNU with 15 kills, while Hope White chipped in with nine kills. Morgan Henning paced the Pitt State defense with four blocks and Lauren Dunn recorded 15 digs on the match.

In the final match of the weekend, Pitt State downed the Tigers 3-1, 25-11, 25-14, 23-25, 25-13.

Hope White recorded 14 kills in the match against ECU, followed by Emily Regier with 13 kills. Camryn Blanton collected 25 assists from the setter position.

Pitt State exits the tournament with a 11-2 overall record. The Gorillas return to action next Friday (Sept. 14) when they open MIAA play at home against Missouri Southern State University in John Lance Arena.
