Vatterott College closes campuses, letter sent to students
Campus closings include Missouri locations
Vatterott College notifies the Missouri Department of High Education (MDHE) that the school was closing its campuses effective immediately, including its Joplin campus. Vatterott made the notification on December 17th, 2018.
According to notices posted outside the Joplin college location, the shut down is due to financial issues. In a letter to students, Vatterott says, “All Vatterott campuses will close completely and immediately effective today. If you are at the school, please gather any personal belongings and depart the building.”
The letter also states that Vatterott is working with neighboring colleges to take students on transfer. It advises students to apply for a Closed School Loan Discharge from the U.S. Department of Education. The MDHE says Vatterott is working to make arrangements for permanent storage of students records. You can read more on that through the link below.
Vatterott College operated seven locations in Missouri: Berkeley, Joplin, Kansas City, Springfield, St. Charles, St. Louis (Extreme Institute), and Sunset Hills. L’Ecole Culinaire operated in two locations in Missouri: Kansas City and St. Louis.
