Van hits utility pole after being rear-ended in Pittsburg

Pittsburg Police say everyone involved in a crash this morning is okay. It happened at the intersection of Rouse and Jefferson Streets around 9:25 am on April 23, 2019.

The supervisor on scene says the Mustang and van were driving south. The van was slowing to turn when the Mustang rear-ended it.

The van hit a utility pole. The pole broke, affecting power to customers. Westar says it was a momentary outage, lasting less than a minute, and affected 1,670 customers.

Police blocked one lane of traffic while crews worked to clean the scene and make repairs.

A passenger in the van was taken to Via Christi Hospital with minor injuries.
