UPDATE: Troopers identify bodies discovered by child; declare possible victims of deadly car crash
DELAWARE COUNTY, Okla. *UPDATE* – The Oklahoma State Bureau of investigations and Delaware County Law Enforcement say they identified the two bodies discovered by a child in Delaware County.
Officers identified the driver as Ronald Hogshooter, 46, of Frederick, Okla., and the passenger as Shelby Blackfox, 22, of Oklahoma City.
Both subjects were pronounced dead at the scene due to substantial injuries.
In an updated press release, The Oklahoma State Highway Patrol says they believe the deceased subjects were possibly ejected from a vehicle found nearby following a single-vehicle crash.
According to OHP, Troopers believe the crash happened sometime between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Monday, September 12.
Officers say they are unsure what led to the accident.
News on 6 reports that a child found the bodies in a ditch near Highway 28 and 395 Road, according to the Delaware County Sheriff.
Upon investigations, officers discovered an abandoned vehicle not far from the scene.
Deputies commented that they are not sure how long the bodies had been there.
The OSBI says the investigation is ongoing.
