Update: robbery suspect arrested in Southwest Missouri
NEWTON COUNTY, Mo. — Authorities say Crum was taken into custody around 2:30 p.m. on January 3rd.
Southwest Missouri authorities are looking for a robbery suspect from the Joplin area.
According to the McDonald County Emergency Management Agency, the suspect was in a chase early this morning, January 3rd, 2019, from Newton County to McDonald County. Officials say authorities lost the vehicle. A male and female believed to be in the vehicle were found around 8:00 a.m. by the McDonald County Sheriff at Highway 76 and Elkhorn. They say the female was arrested but the male suspect, Dekota Crum, ran into the woods.
Authorities continue their search for Crum. They are asking residents around the East 76 Highway, Elkhorn, Davis, Beaver Road areas to be on the lookout. Authorities say he was wearing a black hoodie and jeans. They say he is possibly armed. If you see Crum, authorities say call 911 immediately.
