Tuesday Blog: Thunderstorms back in the forecast. -Doug

I hope you had a great and safe holiday weekend.  The weather was fantastic!  It was a little windy but overall it turned out to be a great 3 day weekend.  But of course, more thunderstorms are back in the forecast.  By morning, still most of the thunderstorms will be in our northern counties.  But some of our northern counties will get clipped by some thunderstorms.

Late Morning

Another warm and windy day for us with highs into the mid 80s.

Mid Afternoon

As a cold front rolls in during the evening hours we will get scattered thunderstorms from north central OK, SE KS and into west central MO.  These will be scattered and I am not expecting a line of storms.  However, some of these could be strong to severe during the evening and overnight hours.

Severe Threat

We will need to go with an elevated threat across SE KS.  I do expect these storms to greatly weaken as they get into SW MO, which is why I have the threat much lower.  Scattered thunderstorms continue to pick up during the evening hours. Again these will be scattered with the higher chance in SE KS.

Tuesday Night

Scattered thunderstorms continue to work through Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning.  I think we will see a break and then another round late morning Wednesday and into that afternoon.  These could be strong but not expecting severe.

We will most likely see a band Wednesday night with us finally drying out by Thursday morning.  However, 1-3″ of rain is very possible.  Long range forecast is below.

Next Tuesday-Saturday:  Scattered thunderstorms right back in to start the week.  Warming up the second half of the week with thunderstorm chances back in by Friday.

June 12th-18th: A warm start with hot temperatures by the middle of the week.  Back to warm temperatures late week and heading into the weekend.  Thunderstorm chances Sunday and Monday, then again Wednesday and Thursday.

June 19th-25th: Mainly a hot week with scattered storms on Monday, Thursday and Saturday.

June 26th-July 2nd:  A warm to hot week with scattered thunderstorms on Sunday and Monday, then again Friday and Saturday.
