Tropical update – July 21, 2021

One feature in the Deep South we're watching

Our latest look at the Tropics on this July 21st shows a calmer setup compared to how we started the week out. In the Pacific, Felicia and Guillermo have both dissipated over the past few days. With no current systems in the Eastern Pacific and no other systems expected to develop within the next 5 days, it’s nice that the Eastern Pacific will stay quiet in the short term. Over in the Atlantic Basin, we don’t see any tropical waves in progress. However, we’re keeping an eye on a broad low sitting along the dying stationary front over Mississippi and Alabama. With this low expected to work offshore off the coasts of South Carolina, Georgia and Florida by this weekend, the environment is expected to be marginally conducive for some gradual development. While those chances over the next 5 days remain low at 20%, we’ll keep an eye on that and the rest of the Tropics.
