Train derailment stops BNSF line in Newton County, Mo.
Five cars or more off the rails north of Granby
NEWTON COUNTY, Mo. — Neighbors northwest of Granby, Mo. report a train derailment along Old Hwy E in the Shoal Creek bottoms.
They reported it on Thursday morning, Jan. 20, 2022. Five cars or more derailed on a BNSF train.
MoDOT sources say there were no injuries and the train was not hauling any HAZMAT materials.
By mid-morning Thursday BNSF recovery operations began assembling at the location.
The crash was located 1/2 mile west of where the tracks cross under Hwy E.
