We learn on scene as the trailer became fully involved, the driver unhooked and pulled forward to safety.

As the trailer continues burning, the trailer disintegrated and the flaming load spread across both southbound lanes.

I-49 was completely halted. Pineville Marshals, Missouri State Highway Patrol and McDonald County Deputies diverted all southbound traffic to US-71 Jane, Mo./Bella Vista, Ark.

Metro Towing was summoned to remove the trailer and debris from the scene. The fire was still burning at 5:30 p.m. as a thunderstorm was rolling through the area. One lane is open to southbound traffic as of 4:20 p.m.
