Tommie Robert Edington

Tommie (Tom) R. Edington, 77, February 1, 1943 – April 16, 2020.

In true style, Tom, who never liked a big fuss but loved a good story, chose to end his Earth side days during the pandemic of 2020. He of course, didn’t want the pandemic to be the main character of his story, but he did see the value of using it as a backup singer for the end. With the love and support of his wife, they fought a brave battle against dementia and other health issues over the last decade.

He has now joined a motley crew of his family that preceded him in death, including his mother, Clarcie, his father, Tom, and his two brothers Oley and Paul, as well as his son that was taken at birth many years ago. We are sure that Heaven is rocking right now with them all reunited!

He is survived by the love of his life, his Foxy Lady and wife, of 54 years, Sam, better known to everyone else as (Martha) Jane. He also leaves behind his two favorite daughters, Stephanie Shearer and Tiffany Spradling, and their husbands that he had grown to love. He has five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren as well. He loved his family more than anything and will forever be watching over his cast of characters from above.

His family extends a sincere thanks for the care shown to him during his last days by the staff at both Bradford Court and The Neighborhoods at Quail Creek.

In lieu of flowers, please go out and have a nice steak dinner with those you love. Even better, have a big shindig at your house and surround yourself in their love. That was his favorite way to spend a day.

Private services will be held once this whole social distancing thing is over and done with. We’ll let you know if you’re invited. Arrangements are under the direction of the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, Missouri.
