JOPLIN, Mo – A Joplin home invasion results in shots fired. According to the Joplin Police Department, two men entered the residence of 1302 South Missouri Avenue at 1 P.M. Saturday. An altercation ensued and shots were fired. The two men fled the scene. The victim suffered minor injuries but refused medical treatment. Police are still looking for the two men. More information will be released as it becomes available.

PITTSBURG, Kan – Pittsburg police respond to call from a woman alleging she was being held against her will by a man with a firearm. The incident took place Friday evening in the Sycamore Village Apartment Complex on North Joplin Street. The man and woman at the scene had already left by the time police arrived. Another man tried to flee the apartment complex but was apprehended by police. The man was identified as 19-year-old Jacob Galloway, who had an active arrest warrant. 26-year-old Blaze Allen Swank was found inside the apartment and he too had an active arrest warrant. Officers then responded to a call at 9th and Tucker where gunshots were fired. Police apprehended the 20-year-old suspect who is believed to have been the one to hold the woman against her will.

JOPLIN, Mo – A Joplin fire leaves a home with smoke and fire damage on Saturday night. According to the Joplin Fire Department, the fire at 9th and South McKinley Avenue was started in the back of the house when a generator malfunctioned. Officials say the fire was out in under two hours. Investigators ruled the fire as an accident. There were no injuries. Red Cross is assisting the residents of the home.

BAXTER SPRINGS, Kan – The Baxter Inn in Baxter Springs was struck by lightning Saturday night.  Around 7:20 P.M., Baxter Springs Firefighters responded to a dispatch call to the Inn on Military Avenue.  They found minimal damage on the roof and in the attic.  Columbus, Galena, and Quapaw Fire Departments also assisted.
