Thursday Night Blog: Big system rolling in! Plus, long range forecast.

Big system rolling in! Plus, long range forecast.
Rainfall1

Good Thursday night!  I hope you had a fantastic Christmas!  Also, I hope you got some great time with family and friends.  I was off for 5 days which was great!  Back at it and still can’t believe how warm it was for Christmas.  Oh well, you get what you get.  I am looking forward to the next 3 weeks of weather.  We are going to see some bigger systems in here that will change our weather up.  First off, lets look at Friday.  After a cold start, it will start to warm into the upper 50s for highs.  We will have clouds most of the day and could see a random shower by the afternoon.

We will see showers sneaking in Friday night.  However, temperatures stay mild into the 50s.

Showers continue into Saturday morning.  However, it is Saturday afternoon that the showers and thunderstorms will work in.  Some of these could be on the strong side with heavy amounts of rain.  As of right now, I am not expecting sever weather but it is something I want to watch over the next 36 hours.

A lot of areas will pick up 1-2″ of rain from this system.

Colder air will work in during the daytime hours on Sunday.  In fact, our temperatures will most likely drop through the day.  We will have a back wave that will rotate through that could give us a rain/snow mix by Sunday afternoon.

If we get some snow, I don’t expect it to be a big deal as of now.  Maybe a dusting or so, but again I will watch it.  Another system will roll in late next week.  That system could be a rain over to snow situation.  Then again, we will do it the following week.  So at least for weather lovers, we have a few good systems to look forward to.  Long range forecast is below.
