Thursday Evening Blog: Clouds and fog sticking around! Plus, your long range forecast.

Clouds and fog sticking around! Plus, your long range forecast.

Good Thursday evening!  I hope you are having a great week.  SLOWEST WEEK EVER!  Well for diehard Chiefs fans.  Hey, at least the weather is looking up for the weekend.  We do still have the clouds sticking around over the next 36 hours.  We are going to see drizzle, fog and a random shower tonight.

I don’t think this will be a huge deal, but still be careful on the roads with the fog and the drizzle.  Clouds hang tough on Friday!  We will still have a few random showers or drizzle through the day.  However, temperatures will be a hair warmer.

Big changes for the weekend!  Sunshine will return and temperatures will really warm up.  We will have lower 50s on Saturday, with mid to upper 60s for Super Bowl Sunday!

Our next storm system rolls in on Monday and Tuesday.  This is system we have already had 3 times in the last cycles in the Heady Pattern.  This was a very warm system back in December and it will do the same again this time around.  So banking on the pattern, I am going to assume most of the moisture stays east of the region, but we will see a few showers on Monday and the a few snow showers on Tuesday.  So will we get some snow down the road?  Take a look at my long range forecast below.

Long range forecast through late February:

Next Week:  Super Bowl Chiefs Sunday will be great!  Temperatures well into the 60s with a Chiefs win of course!  Well, I hope!  Next system rolls in late Monday and Tuesday.  Rain chances late Monday, then rain or snow by Tuesday.  However, again most of the moisture will stay east of the area.  Staying cool behind this system until temperatures will moderate heading into the weekend.  We will have slight chances for rain again on Friday with a fast moving wave.

February 9th-15th:  Rain chances increase again on Sunday and into Monday with our next system.  Right behind it, we will have rain and snow chances for late Tuesday and into Wednesday.  This should give us snow on Wednesday as it did back in December one cycle ago.  Staying cool the rest of the week with rain chances back in by the weekend.

February 16th-22nd:  A cool start to the week with rain and snow chances on Sunday and Monday.  Warming up late in the week with rain chances on Thursday and Friday.

February 23rd-29th:  Mild start to the week with rain and snow chances on Sunday and Monday.  Turning colder through the week with our next system on Thursday and Friday with rain and snow chances.

March 1st-7th:  Mainly a cool week with slight chances for rain on Wednesday.  Rain chances back in by the weekend.

March 8th-14th:  A cool first half of the week with rain and snow chances on Sunday.  Next system in right behind it on Tuesday with also rain and snow chances.  Mild temperatures return the rest of the week with slight chances for rain on Friday.

March 15th-21st:  Mild with rain on Sunday and Monday.  Cool through the middle of the week with mild temperatures back in for the weekend.  Also, rain chances back in on Friday and Saturday.
