Thursday blog: The heat builds in this weekend as we stay dry -Chris

Good morning everyone, I hope your Thursday is off to a good start. Allergy sufferers, things aren’t getting better for you, unfortunately. We’ve got a pollen index of 9.3 out of 12 for today and forecasted to be 8.6 out of 12 tomorrow. Both those numbers are in the ‘moderate-high’ category, so make sure you’re taking the allergy meds with you if you have any outdoor plans. Ragweed is the primary culprit here.

On to the forecast. We’ve got increasing clouds today which will help keep temperatures in check compared to the next several days. We’re looking at a high around 89° which is going to be nice compared to next week.

Heading into tonight, clouds will gradually clear out and we’ll see our lows dip back down into the lower 60s across the region to start our Friday.

3This weekend is when the heat really begins to kick in. We’re looking at 92° on Friday, 94° on Saturday and pushing 98° on Sunday under mostly clear to partly cloudy skies. This weekend, we’ll also see our overnight lows start ticking up into the lower to mid 70s, about 30° warmer than where some of us started Monday morning.

Here’s where it gets tough. We’ve got a cold front coming in late Thursday of next week. It’s looking to drop our temperatures about 10-15°, but, there’s questions as to how much moisture it will have to work with in terms of bringing us some rain. We’re holding on to low-end rain and storm chances Thursday night into Friday morning, but we’ll keep a close eye on it.

Otherwise, we stay hot and dry through the next several days with highs pushing the upper 90s.
