Three local teams to play for state championships

Carthage, Webb City and Cassville aim for titles

The Carthage Tigers are one of three local teams still in the hunt for a state championship this football season.

Carthage (11-2) will face Jackson (13-0) on Saturday night at 7:00 PM in the Missouri Class 5 state championship game. It will be the first ever state championship game appearance for the Tigers.

Webb City is aiming for its 15th state championship in program history. The Cardinals (13-1) will face Platte County (11-3) in the Class 4 state championship on Friday night at 7:00 PM in Columbia.

In Class 3, the Cassville Wildcats are in the state title game for the first time since 2009. Cassville (12-2) will play Odessa (14-0) on Saturday at 11:00 AM.
