Three dead, one in stable condition following boat accident in Coffey County, Kansas

BURLINGTON, Kan. – Authorities are investigating an accident that left three people dead on the Neosho River near Burlington, Kansas.

Officials say the initial investigation shows a family of two adults and two children were boating on the river when the boat approached a low-head dam. the boat stalled, and the operator lost control of the boat, and all four people were thrown out of the boat. Wesley Sharp, of Shawnee, Kansas, was pulled from the water and is currently in stable condition. However, Maribel Moran, and the couple’s two children, ages three and five, were taken to Burlington Hospital where they were later pronounced dead.
