Theodore Charles Porter

heodore Charles “Ted” Porter, age 80, of St. Louis, Missouri, passed away suddenly at his winter home in Seminole, Florida. He was born July 2, 1939, the youngest of seven, to James Henry and Gloria (Wallace) Porter.

Ted was a 1958 graduate of O’Fallon High School in St. Louis. He proudly served as a St. Louis Fireman for over 25 years, retiring, from Firehouse #36 on Kingshighway, where he served the majority of his career. He was an avid tennis player, enjoyed golf, and playing cards with family and friends. Ted loved a good party, and was a star on the dance floor, and often cut-a-rug to his favorite Neil Diamond tunes.

He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his two sisters and their families, Marianne Stanford and Gail (Rich) Pidgeon of St. Louis and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

His parents, brothers, James Joseph “Pete,” twins Ronald and (infant) Donald, and one sister, Beverly Hitchcock, preceded him in death.

A visitation will be held from 9:30-11:00 am, on Tuesday, January 21, 2020, at St. Stephens Protomartyr Church, 3929 Wilmington Ave., St. Louis, MO, 63116. Mass will commence at 11:00 am. Private burial will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery.
