RELEASE FROM PITTSBURG STATE ATHLETICS:

PITTSBURG — The Pittsburg State University men’s and women’s indoor track & field teams will open their 2018-19 seasons by hosting the Boo Rogers Combined Events Friday (Dec. 7) and the Crimson & Gold Invitational Saturday (Dec. 8) at the Robert W. Plaster Center.

The Boo Rogers Combined Events will start at 1 p.m. (CST) Friday. The women’s pentathlon action will wrap up shortly after 6 p.m. with the running of the 800 meters. The men will compete in four of seven events in the heptathlon Friday, then return Saturday starting at 9 a.m. to wrap up their competition.

The Crimson & Gold Invitational begins at 11:30 a.m. (CST) Saturday.

Admission for both meets is $5 per person, while fans age 12 and under and PSU students with a valid student I.D. are free.

The Pitt State men captured the 2018 NCAA Division II Indoor National Championship as well as the 2018 MIAA Indoor Championship. The Pitt State women claimed the 2018 MIAA Indoor Championship and finished in a tie for fifth place at the 2018 NCAA Division II Indoor National Championships, the program’s third straight top five finish.
