Temps pushing the lower to mid 90s today ahead of another round of showers and storms -Chris

Good Friday morning everyone! I hope it’s off to a great start for you. We’re going to be hot today, afternoon highs reaching the lower to even mid 90s for some of us. Scattered storms build in by this evening in our northern counties. They’ll try to spread southeast, but we won’t see more of them until late tonight.

As we head into the weekend, temperatures soar on Saturday in between morning and evening storms under partly cloudy skies. Highs pushing the mid 90s. Scattered storm chances look to increase Saturday afternoon and evening. Not a complete washout on weekend plans, but keep the Skywatch weather app handy so you can keep ahead of the storms.

Storms continue into Sunday but should clear out by the afternoon leaving us with partly cloudy skies and highs in the mid 80s.

The future track shows the storms in our northern counties by about 5:00 Friday evening. A few of those could be on the strong side, we’ll talk about that below.

By Saturday evening another round of scattered showers and storms begin to develop across the area and will make their way east-southeast through the night.

For today, there’s a low-end risk of some stronger storms in our northern counties. If any of them get some teeth, wind and hail are the primary threats. We’ll of course keep an eye on them here in the Skywatch Weather center.

A stray strong storm or two is possible on Saturday, something we’ll keep an eye on as well.
