Teen arrested after late night stabbing in Jasper County, two sent to hospital

The Jasper County Sheriff's Office has released the names of the two victims

The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office has released the names of the victims of an April 25th stabbing. The victims’ names are James Powell and Dawn Powell, both of the residence.

Both James and Dawn Powell have been released from the hospital.


JASPER COUNTY, Mo. – A 14-year old boy is arrested after a late night stabbing at 8711 CR40 in Reeds.

The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office says that when deputies arrived at 10:42 p.m., they discovered a 54-year-old man and a 54-year-old woman with serious injuries. Both were taken to local hospitals for treatment and are expected to make a full recovery.

The teen is in custody at the Juvenile Detention Center in Joplin.

The investigation is ongoing; no other information is being released at this time.
