Oklahoma lawmakers grumble about opioid settlement

A $270 million settlement between the state of Oklahoma and the maker of OxyContin received high praise last week as an innovative way to help combat opioid addiction. But Attorney General Mike Hunter is now facing bipartisan backlash from Oklahoma lawmakers who say he overstepped his authority and circumvented their role. 

Oklahoma court rejects immediate delay in opioid trial

The Oklahoma Supreme Court has rejected a request by drugmakers to immediately postpone the start of a trial in a lawsuit that accuses the companies of fueling the state's opioid epidemic.    The trial is scheduled to start May 28th. However, on Wednesday, the court set a March 20 hearing on whether to grant a 100-day postponement of the trial.
