A $270 million settlement between the state of Oklahoma and the maker of OxyContin received high praise last week as an innovative way to help combat opioid addiction. But Attorney General Mike Hunter is now facing bipartisan backlash from Oklahoma lawmakers who say he overstepped his authority and circumvented their role. 

Hill negotiators hear what they want on border

Bipartisan House and Senate negotiators emerged from a key closed-door briefing with Customs and Border Protection officials Wednesday agreeing they were told that a comprehensive response is the best way to secure the border, one that marries new technologies to additional personnel and new barriers.
