T-storm chances start ramping up Wednesday

Even though Wednesday is looking like another hot day across the area, we will begin to see our weather setup undergo a change. With the upper level ridge sneaking back into the Desert Southwest and the southern Rocky Mountains, that will allow our cold front to start working into northern Kansas and northern Missouri.

That will allow t-storm chances to pick up as we head into late Wednesday afternoon and especially Wednesday evening and night. Even though the cold front will have plenty of heat and humidity to get these t-storms going, the overall dynamics don’t seem to favor widespread severe weather. With a marginal risk over the area, though, we can’t rule out strong t-storms that could occasionally produce some gusty winds and some hail.
