Severe Weather Outlook for Thursday August 16th

Most spots had a loud night with a good batch of rain and t-storms late last night and into this morning. We’ll have a few showers out to start the evening, but we’ll keep things quiet tonight and most of your Thursday. With that said, the Storm Prediction Center has our area under a marginal risk for severe weather while a slight risk is confined to central/northeastern Kansas up into southeastern Nebraska. The majority of your Thursday is looking fine. We’ll have partly sunny skies and a hot afternoon with highs around 90. It’s not until Thursday evening and Thursday night when the t-storm chances ramp back up. We shouldn’t be dealing with severe weather, but some strong t-storms with some gusty wind and some small hail can’t be ruled out.
