Survey Indicates Improving Midwest Economy

Economic conditions are improving in a region that includes Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma and Arkansas.
That’s according to a monthly survey report released Tuesday.
The Mid-America Business Conditions Index jumped to 61.1 in August, compared with 57.0 in July, the report said.The survey results are compiled into a collection of indexes in which any score above 50 suggests growth. It’s the 21st straight month the index remained above that level.
The survey of nine Midwest and Plains states covers Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, both Dakotas and Oklahoma.
