Surveillance photos released as Joplin police investigate man being shot multiple times
JOPLIN, Mo. – Police are looking for the man seen in surveillance photos as they investigate a shooting that happened earlier this month. The victim is still hospitalized with critical life-threatening injuries, according to police.
On March 16, 2020, around 4:56 p.m., Joplin officers were dispatched to 106 N. Oak Ave for reports of a man being shot. When authorities got there, they found that one man had been shot multiple times with a firearm.
EMS took the victim, Walter Salwasser, to a local hospital.
Police say the man seen in the surveillance images was walking away from the shooting immediately after it happened. They are asking for help in identifying the pictured man.
