Stolen truck recovered in ditch in southeast Kansas
CHEROKEE COUNTY, Kan. – The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office announced that they had arrested a man from Weir, Kansas for allegedly stealing a truck.
He’s currently being held at the Cherokee County Jail.
The arrest happened after deputies were called about a theft of a 2002 Ford F-150, which was reported stolen in northern Cherokee County, late Friday night.
Deputies discovered the truck in a ditch near Lawton around 3:30 AM, and shortly after, they located the suspect after residents called them concerning a suspicious man.
Following their investigation, the man was arrested and is currently being held in lieu of $3,250 bond on allegations of Felony Theft and Driving While Suspended.
