Stolen pickup leads Jasper County Deputies in short pursuit that ends in crash

UPDATE: The pickup was stolen out of Joplin earlier that morning (Wednesday).The Jasper County Prosecutor’s office charged William Greg Spencer a pair of Felony charges:
• Felony Tampering w/a Motor Vehicle
• Felony Resisting Arrest (Fleeing)
JASPER COUNTY, Mo. — Just after 8 p.m. Wednesday evening a Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted a traffic stop on East 7th near Irwin and the vehicle fled.
The black pickup took off south on Irwin from 7th. About a mile later the pickup crashed out at 20th and Irwin into a utility pole, but no lines were down.
The pickup was found to be stolen out of Joplin.
The driver was not injured and was taken into custody. Anticipated charges are:
- Tampering w/a Motor Vehicle
- Resisting Arrest (pursuit)
- Possession of a Controlled Substance
Google Maps where crash ended at 20th and Irwin.
M&M Wrecker removed the vehicle from the crash scene.
Missouri State Highway Patrol processed the single vehicle crash.
