Staying quiet for this afternoon and night
Severe threat shifted southeast
After dealing with strong (and a few severe) t-storms this morning, we’ve managed to stay quiet for this afternoon with some clouds holding on across the area. The front and upper level wave that passed through this morning has shifted off to our southeast. That’s setting the stage for severe weather for parts of the Deep South and the Tennessee Valley this afternoon and evening. A slight risk covers much of the Tennessee Valley with an enhanced risk covering areas along the Tennessee/Alabama state line. Within the enhanced risk, there could be some isolated tornadoes possible this late afternoon and evening. Otherwise, that part of the Lower 48 will have to contend with wind and hail being the main threats with the strongest t-storms that will develop.
