Staying cloudy and cool today
While t-storms stay to our south & east
JOPLIN, Mo. — We’ve been pretty fortunate today to avoid any rain chances as our cold front continues to work on through the area. After we had to start with areas of mist and fog this morning, the northwest wind will continue to cool us down throughout the rest of the day as skies stay cloudy.
The better chances for rain and t-storms continue to develop out ahead of this system. That includes parts of the Great Lakes, the Deep South and the Tennessee Valley. While these areas will have chances for rain and t-storms today, the setup isn’t ideal for severe weather. With an upper level wave pushing the cold front through our area, it’s also going to produce some scattered rain and t-storms in parts of New Mexico, Arizona and Texas this afternoon and evening. Like the other areas, those expected t-storms shouldn’t turn severe.
