Staring at stars and exploring space with Dr. Janet Kavandi

Jesse gives four state native and NASA scientist Janet Kavandi a call on her birthday to talk about what drove her to joining the space association.

She talks about how she went from Cassville, to Carthage, to Joplin. She talks about her history in the area and how she stayed for school until she was 23.

She also talks about how the Apollo 11 moon landing affected her and furthered her passion for studying the stars and beyond. Specifically, she talks about how memories of her and dad looking into the night sky during her childhood piqued her interest and drove her curiosity to explore the limitless vacuum of space.
