Spring is just days away, leading to one of the busiest times of year for the SEK Humane Society and dozens of other local shelters.

The spring season brings with it large litters of puppies and kittens, often leading to over-crowding.

At the SEK Humane Society, officials are already holding several pregnant cats and dogs.

Spaying and neutering your pets can help ease the burden on shelters.

“Spring affects every single humane society, animal shelter, rescue, town, public, it affects everybody right now. So, I cannot express enough, If you have an animal, please go spay and neuter them,” said Jasmine Kyle with the SEK Humane Society.

The SEK Humane Society is currently at maximum capacity for their dogs and is offering $30 dollar adoption specials through the month of March.
