JOPLIN, Mo. - The Joplin Eagles finished as the Class 6 state runner-up on Saturday, falling to DeSmet 35-20 in the championship game. The Eagles finish the season with a 13-1 overall record.
Here's a few stats and notes from this season for the Eagles.
RB Isaiah Davis finishes the season with 2,283 rushing yards and 45 touchdowns.
WR Zach Westmoreland had 1,631 receiving yards and 21 touchdowns. He was a monster in the playoffs, posting 899 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns in the Eagles' 5 post-season games. Westmoreland also led the team with 6 interceptions on defense.
Davis/Westmoreland combined for 4,875 all-purpose yards this season.
QB Blake Tash finishes the season with 2,787 passing yards and 31 touchdowns. He completed 75% of his passes on the year
RB Nathan Glades had 1,327 all-purpose yards this season (471 rushing, 528 receiving, 328 kick return). Glades is a junior, and will be back with the Eagles next season.
Junior Scott Lowe (127) and senior Holden Ledford (114) each topped 100 tackles for Joplin. Senior Eli Eminger finished with 91 total tackles and added 3 interceptions.
Junior Jacob Prosser led the team with 4 sacks. Will Boman and Donovahn Watkins each had three sacks.
Kicked Garrett Landis finished this season with 80 points, knocking in 77 PAT's and a field goal. He finishes his Joplin career with 226 kicking points, which is the most in school history and #2 all-time in Missouri.
