Pitt State's Hardin, Vincent earn MIAA Player of the Week honors

PITTSBURG, Kan. - RELEASE FROM PITTSBURG STATE ATHLETICS:

Pittsburg State University senior cornerback KiAnte Hardin was named the MIAA Defensive Player of the Week Monday (Sept. 16), while senior placekicker Jared Vincent garnered MIAA Special Teams Player of the Week honors.

Hardin snared two interceptions, including one he returned 45 yards for a touchdown, in No. 23 Pitt State's 47-23 victory over Emporia State Saturday (Sept. 14).

The Webb City, Mo., native had both takeaways lead to Gorilla touchdowns in the contest. He returned a third quarter INT to the ESU 4 yard line to help stake Pitt State to a 23-7 advantage and his fourth quarter INT led to the Gorillas' final points of the contest.

Hardin added three tackles and a pass break up to his defensive stat line. The Pitt State defense forced three ESU turnovers in the contest.

Vincent booted four field goals and scored a team-leading 17 points in the Gorillas victory over the Hornets. The Claremore, Okla., converted kicks of 47, 30, 24 and 35 yards in the contest. Vincent improved to 7-for-7 on field goal attempts on the season. He currently leads NCAA Division II in field goals (3.5 pg).
