Softball Looks to Regroup with Doubleheader vs. Jennies

The Pitt State softball team will look to regroup from a challenging weekend with a midweek doubleheader against Central Missouri on Wednesday (April 15) at 3 and 5 p.m. at the PSU Softball Complex. The two teams are tied for the league lead, each with a .750 MIAA win percentage.

The Jennies are 30-12 overall and 12-4 in MIAA play. The team split doubleheaders with Northeastern State and Central Oklahoma the past weekend. The Jennies hit .313 as a team with six players hitting .300 or better. The pitching staff has a 2.96 ERA and holds opponents to a .274 batting average.

Pitt State lost three of four games last weekend, splitting with Northwest Missouri on Friday, before losing two to Missouri Western on Saturday. The Gorillas are 28-14 overall and 15-5 in league play. The team hits .314 with seven players hitting .300 or better on the season. The Gorilla pitchers have a 2.67 ERA and hold opponents to a .253 batting average.
