Softball Lands Five on MIAA Academic Honors List
The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association office announced their MIAA Academic Honors Roll for the 2016 Softball season today.
Of the 132 student-althetes named to the list Missouri Southern landed five on the MIAA Academic Honor Roll. Sophomores Kali’ Hodson (3.182/Political Science) from Anderson,Myranda Stewart (3.813/Health Promotions and Wellness) from Owasso, and Abi Corbett(4.0/Marketing) from Wentzville, and seniors Sarah Williams (3.196/Elementary Education) from Wentzville and Alana Hester (3.819/Criminal Justice Administration) of Wildwood each earned honor roll status. To achieve honor roll status, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.00 and have at least two terms of attendance at the certifying member institution, excluding summer terms.
Of those 132 student-athletes thirty-three have earned the MIAA Scholar Athlete Award, which is given to those who have a cumulative grade point average of 3.50, have at least two terms of attendance at the certifying member institution, excluding summer terms, and, if competing in a championship sport of the MIAA, earn All-MIAA honors. Both Corbett and Hester were also named to the MIAA Scholar-Athlete Award List.
Newcomers and MIAA Academic Excellence Awards will be given out following the end of the 2015-16 school year.
